“Piaggero,” the name of the NP-35/15 Series, combines “Piano” with the word “leggero,” a musical term meaning, “light.” As the name states, the NP-35/15 is extremely light, even for a portable keyboard, so that you can take it anywhere. Indoors, outdoors, or even on a trip, feel free to take it to your favorite places and practice.
Powerful, resonant sound
Yamaha’s acoustic technology furnishes the Piaggero’s powerful sound—a sound that belies its compact size, featuring resonant grand piano-style bass notes and beautifully detailed treble tones.
The Piaggero features the sound of a Yamaha full concert grand, the CFIIIS. The sound was sampled from a piano with a bright, transparent tone, a spacious treble, and an overall solid sonic feel.
The NP-35 is equipped with a larger amplifier than the NP-15, for a more robust bass and greater overall volume.

Like conventional pianos, the keys on the NP-35 are heavier in the bass register and lighter in the treble (Graded Soft Touch). Experience the piano-like feel and light touch of this new keyboard. Please note this is not a weighted key keyboard.

VOICES: Other than the superb piano sound, the Piaggero features only a carefully curated selection of sounds that keyboard players use frequently.
In addition to keyboard instruments like the electric piano, the organ, and the harpsichord, other non-piano sounds like strings offer the player a broader palette for expression. Try a different sound to that one you usually play to gain new inspiration and enjoy performing in a variety of different genres.
SONGS: The NP-35/15 comes with 15 demo songs that are appropriate for each voice, such as Concert Grand, DX E. Piano, Jazz Organ, Harpsichord 8’, Strings and so forth. We encourage you to listen to these demo songs, which cover a variety of genres from light classical to baroque masterpieces, jazz, pop music and more, to get an idea of how the NP-35/15 opens up possibilities for your musical expression.
The ability to use headphones is a convenient feature of digital instruments. You can play without the people around you hearing, and even enjoy the exquisite sound of a concert grand piano in all its glory.
RECORDING FUNCTION: The NP-35/15 comes equipped with a recording function that is a convenient aid to practice, making it easy to record your own performances so that you can listen to them again immediately. You can record just the left hand first, and then practice playing along with the right.
The NP-35/15 also features a metronome which is essential for learning to perform at the correct tempo.

BATTERY OPERATIONAL: The Piaggero comes with a power adapter*, but since you can also power it using six AA batteries, you can even play it at places that lack access to a power supply.

TOUCH SENSITIVITY: Enjoy playing a touch-sensitive keyboard that accurately reflects every nuance of your playing, making your performances more musically expressive. Play the keys heavily for louder tones, or softly to achieve quieter sounds, to achieve true dynamic control of your music.
SOUND BOOST: Have you ever been in a session with a band and felt that your sound was being overpowered by the other instruments and getting drowned out in the mix? Worry no more—the NP-35 is equipped with a Sound Boost function that switches to a punchy and powerful sound for such situations. This feature is not in the NP-15B model.
Link with Smart Pianist for even more convenience
Connect the instrument to Yamaha’s “Smart Pianist” app, developed exclusively for use with Yamaha’s digital pianos, for even more intuitive operation than when operating the instrument itself.
In addition to operating the instrument itself, Smart Pianist can also display music scores.
*You can also use the UD-BT01 (sold separately) to connect to apps via Bluetooth MIDI.
CONNECT TO PC, PHONE OR TABLET DEVICES VIA USB CABLE: The piano-style keys of the Piaggero make it useful as a MIDI keyboard for entering music data.
